Mrs. Fields is a Project Manager at Karna, responsible for managing federal government contracts and cultivating client and staff relationships.

She has more than 15 years of experience providing scientific, technical, and programmatic support to public health organizations at the local, state, and federal levels. Before becoming a project manager, Mrs. Fields was a Public Health Analyst (PHA). She provided technical assistance and designed, implemented, and evaluated training for various public health initiatives, including chronic disease programs, health equity, public health laboratories, tobacco control, community
health, and global health security.

Mrs. Fields began her career at the State of Georgia, where she served as a technical adviser, providing strategy and subject matter expertise to the local public health districts. Her focuses centered on chronic disease programs including tobacco control, physical activity and nutrition, cardiovascular health, asthma, and diabetes. She played an instrumental role in implementing tobacco-free school policies across Georgia and the smoke-free policy in the City of Atlanta.

As an undergraduate, Mrs. Fields was a Nutrition Educator for the project, “Promoting Healthy Eating in Detroit,” where she worked to increase access to and use of healthy foods among African Americans and Latinos in Detroit. She also implemented the first “Project Fresh” fruit and vegetable Market in Southwest Detroit.

Mrs. Fields holds a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in Family Community Services from Michigan State University. She is also a co-founder of a women’s wellness nonprofit.
