Karna. LLC Presents the Third Annual On Target Award to Manager Lauri Gilreath
Each year, in commemoration of our company’s founding, the Karna On Target Award is presented to one deserving staff member in association with the company’s anniversary, July 17th. The purpose of the award is to recognize one outstanding employee who embodies Karna's standards for professionalism, excellence, and improvements to public health. This year, Lauri Gilreath was recognized for her professionalism as the Payroll & Benefits Manger. See below a Q + A with Laurie about her background as a Karna team member.
Q: Where are you from?
A: Born in Kankakee, IL before we moved to Broken Arrow, OK when I was 8. Then, I moved to GA when I was 13. I’ve lived here for the last 40 years.
Q: How did you get started in public health?
A: I do not have a background in public health. I was hired by Karna in August 2015 for a finance position. When an opening was available in HR I requested to move as my passion is benefits and payroll, and working with employees. I am now Manager, Payroll & Benefits, and couldn’t be happier.
Q: How long have you worked with Karna?
A: I worked as a contractor starting in July 2015, and was hired as an employee in August 2015.
Q: What is the most challenging aspect of the work you do?
A: Making sure that all timesheet entries are listed properly so that everyone gets paid correctly and on time.
Q: What's the most rewarding aspect of working on the Karna team?
A: I enjoy working with all of the employees and being able to answer their questions. I love getting to know them and their families, and being able to help where I can.
